Ensure you have various sizes of strong boxes, plenty of tape, marker pen, paper & bubble wrap.
Make sure heavy items such as books etc., are placed in smaller boxes so that they are not over heavy to lift.
With fragile items place some paper or bubble wrap at the bottom of the box to cushion the items.
Wrap each item individually with plenty of paper or bubble wrap and place in box – try to stand items up as they tend to be stronger this way.
Placing bubble wrap or scrunched paper in between each layer will help to protect all your items.
Before sealing the box pop some more scrunched paper or bubble wrap on the top to further protect your items.
Make sure the box is not too heavy before sealing your box with tape – ensure you tape really well taking the tape either side of the box so it’s really secure.
Mark the box with what items are in there, and most importantly, which room you’d like it placed in the new house – if you are borrowing our boxes, please write on the tape, this allows our boxes to be used again and again for longer thank you.
Plan Ahead: Start planning your move as early as possible. Create a timeline and checklist to stay organised and ensure you don't forget anything important.
Declutter: Take this opportunity to declutter your belongings. Donate, sell, or dispose of items you no longer need or use. This will help streamline your move and reduce the amount of stuff you need to pack and transport.
Pack Strategically: Pack room by room and label your boxes clearly. Use sturdy boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and other packing materials to protect your belongings during transit.
Pack Essentials Separately: Pack a separate box with essentials you'll need immediately upon arrival at your new home, such as toiletries, medications, a change of clothes, important documents, and basic kitchen items.
Hire Professionals: Contact Move & More to assist with the heavy lifting and transportation. Book well in advance to secure your preferred moving date.
Notify Utilities and Services: Don't forget to notify utility companies, postal services, banks, schools, and other relevant parties about your change of address. Arrange for services to be transferred or canceled as needed.
Take Inventory: Keep a detailed inventory of your belongings as you pack. This will help you keep track of everything and ensure nothing gets lost or left behind during the move.
Protect Valuables: Take special care of valuable or fragile items. Consider transporting them yourself or using extra padding and protection to prevent damage.
Prepare Your New Home: Clean and prepare your new home before moving day. Arrange for utilities to be connected, do any necessary repairs or improvements, and make sure the space is ready for your arrival.
Stay Flexible: Despite careful planning, unexpected challenges may arise during the moving process. Stay flexible and adaptable, and don't hesitate to seek help or adjust your plans as needed.
